Isomalt

Wednesday, 24 June 2020 by alpiadmin

Isomalt is a sugar substitute, a type of sugar alcohol used primarily for its physical properties as a sweetener. It has only a small effect on blood sugar levels and does not form caries. Isomalta has 2 kilocalories / G, half the calories of sugar. However, like most sugar alcohols (except erythritol), it carries a risk of stomach problems, including flatulence and diarrhea, if consumed in large quantities. Therefore, isomalt is recommended not to be consumed in quantities greater than about 50 g per day for adults and 25 g for children. Isomalt can be unpleasant for the stomach because the body treats it as a diuretic fiber and not as a simple carbohydrate.

Therefore, like most fibers, it can increase bowel movement by passing through the gut in an almost chaotic manner. Isomalta is usually mixed with a high intensity sweetener such as sucralose, so that the mixture has approximately the sweetness of sugar. Isomalta is a disaccharide composed of glucose and mannitol. It is an odorless, white, crystalline substance containing about 5% water from crystallization. Isomalt has a minimal cooling effect (positive heat of the solution), lower than many other sugar alcohols, in particular, xylitol and erythritol. It is unusual for isomalt to be a natural sugar alcohol produced from beets.

An interesting application of isomalt is found in DiabetiSweet, a sugar substitute sold for use, baking and consists of a mixture of isomalt andacesulfame potassium, but has a bitter taste (due to acesulfame potassium) and lacks the caramelizing properties of sugar. Isomalt has been approved for use in the United States since 1990. It is also approved for use in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Iran and the Netherlands (note: List of non-exhaustive countries). Isomalt can be used in sugar sculpture and is preferred by some as it will not crystallize as quickly as sugar.

Nutricosmetics: The new path to health and beauty

Wednesday, 24 June 2020 by alpiadmin

“Beauty is a promise of happiness” by F. Nietzsche

As a result of the increased demands of consumers to ensure long-term health, vitality and beauty, a new class of products called nutricosmetics has appeared on the market in recent years in the wide range of food supplements. Unlike conventional cosmetics, these products are taken orally in the form of tablets, capsules or liquid, providing the body with essential nutrients to support and beauty the skin, hair, nails, to maintain good shape and healthy weight. Nutricosmetics include nutrients that provide a vital link between health and the ability of nutrients to exhibit properties similar to and even more effective than those of cosmetics.

The interest in the possibilities for achieving beauty through natural nutrients dates back to antiquity. Egyptian women used the properties of food to maintain their appearance and rejuvenate. Nutricosmithic products are based on the theory that the key to beauty is in health. A varied and healthy diet, an active lifestyle are a condition for good physical shape and beauty. Hectic daily life, stress, polluted environment, insufficient time spent on food also affect the appearance. Modern beauties are interested in nutrition, but eating habits have changed in recent decades and more and more often the food does not take enough vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids and other useful nutrients. Today, consumers are increasingly realizing that only with cosmetics for external use it is difficult to resist aging, and also that part of the daily beauty care and good appearance are a healthy lifestyle combined with the intake of appropriate nutritional supplements. . The line between science and the development of nutricosmetic products is becoming narrower. The market for good-looking products that are taken by mouth is growing.

Regardless of gender, age, natural endowments, profession, living conditions, everyone wants to be young and beautiful for as long as possible. The face is the mirror of our emotions. It is constantly on the move – smile, laughter, grimace – all these actions provoke the formation of wrinkles. The first wrinkles appear at the age of 25, over time the skin cells renew more and more slowly and by the age of 35 the first facial wrinkles naturally appear. Therefore, the skin needs daily care and protection. In most cases, external cosmetics are used – creams, lotions, masks, which have an effect only on the surface.
In the modern world, the application of food ingredients in the formulation of products for beauty, health and good appearance originated in the 80s of last century. One of the first products is designed to rejuvenate the skin.

Nutricosmetic products appeared on the market and became popular first in Japan and then in Europe, in recent years their supply has increased in the United States. The effects of nutricosmetic products focus mainly on the following areas – skin, hair, nails and appearance. Nutricosmetics to support the activity of the skin is designed to restore the skin, rejuvenate, remove pigmentation, provide elasticity and hydration of the skin, reduce wrinkles, protect from sunlight, good complexion, rejuvenation. Products designed for hair support growth, recovery, volume, nourish the roots, and those for nails aim to improve hardness, reduce brittleness and stratification, good appearance. Achieving a perfect appearance and slim figure is also supported by taking nutricosmetic supplements. Foods and nutraceutical supplements for beauty and appearance improvement are functional products with a new concept and with added qualities. They are the next logical and innovative step in the development of the industry and products for good appearance.

The composition of nutricosmetic products includes various active ingredients with a significant effect on maintaining youth and figure and appearance – vitamins (A, D, E, C, folic acid, biotin, pantothenic acid, etc.), vitamin-like substances -10, etc.), minerals (zinc, copper, magnesium, iron, chromium, selenium, etc.), enzymes (bromelain, papain, etc.), antioxidants (carotenoids – lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin, etc .; flavonoids – quartcetin, catechins, rutin, etc.), amino acids (L-carnitine, lysine, glutamine, leucine, isoleucine, etc.) polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega – 3, omega – 6, conjugated linoleic acid, eicosapentaenoic, doco .), plant extracts and other biologically active substances (hyaluronic acid, collagen, etc.).The high quality of the individual ingredients is guaranteed by the application of modern technologies in their production and compliance with good manufacturing practice.
People’s desire to look good and feel young poses science challenges in developing nutrient opportunities to combat aging and maintain beauty. The market of nutricosmetic products in the world is also growing. An increasing variety of nutricosmetic products and more manufacturers are appearing on the international market, many cosmetic companies are entering the sector.
According to Euromonitor, in 2007 the share of cosmetic products intended for skin care on the market was $ 66 billion, with about 3-5% at the expense of nutricosmetic products. Market netritsevtichnite products (nutriproduktite) including dietary supplements and functional foods is about 56 $ billion. The potential for market expansion relatively new nutritsevtichni products is huge and forecasts up to 2010 the share of nutriproduktite grow to 109 $ billion.
The global market of nutricosmetic products is estimated at several billion, assuming that in the next 5 years it will double. In Japan, where the market is extremely developed, there are separate stores offering only nutricosmetic products.

The expression “beauty from within” today is not just an expressive metaphor! The action of cosmetics – creams, masks, lotions can be enhanced with the help of nutricosmetics. Nutricosmetics is the future of beauty science. The new formulas of nutricosmetic products, as a result of the development of science are created so that the necessary vitamins, minerals, components of plant extracts to nourish the skin, hair, nails to ensure the restoration of cells, functions, revitalization of the body and maintaining a slim figure. The relatively young market encourages research and development of innovative products. Companies are constantly working to improve the effect and quality of existing products. Manufacturers strive to apply the results of research in the production of nutriproducts.

Vitamin C

Wednesday, 24 June 2020 by alpiadmin

It is a powerful antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, fights infections, helps wounds heal faster and is important for the health of gums, teeth and blood vessels. Also vital for the production of collagen, which is used to build body tissue and bones.
Naturally found in most fruits and vegetables – citrus fruits, kiwis, strawberries, green vegetables and potatoes – it acts as an antioxidant.
According to a number of studies, vitamin C cannot cure a person from a cold, but it can relieve symptoms. In addition, there is evidence that long-term use of the vitamin in pill form can protect against cataracts. Scientists from Dubai claim that vitamin C increases the number of sperm and is therefore useful for men suffering from infertility.
However, excessive use of vitamin C is not recommended.
